Live and in Person, GLOBE POSTER!

Department — KVH @ 11:37 am, Monday, March 19th, 2012

You’re invited to attend the closing reception of the Globe Poster exhibition at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall this Tuesday, March 20th, 5:30 – 8:30 PM.

The DayGlo colors of Globe Poster are being exhibited at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall right now, and MICA is hosting a closing reception for the show Tuesday, March 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit covers Globe’s astonishing output of hard-working posters for music — from James Brown through Run DMC and Rare Essence — to carnival and politics. Dozens of posters and several banners created by Globe during its long history were hung at the Meyerhoff as a “welcome to the neighborhood” exhibit honoring MICA’s recent purchase of the Globe collection.

Please join us for the exhibit and light refreshments, cash bar, raffles of posters created for the exhibit, and the sale of Globe Classic posters.

A number of MICA students and alumni helped to put the exhibition together:
Curators: MICA graduate students Allison Gulick, Deana Haggag, Chloe Helton-Gallagher and Kelcey Towell, Allison Fisher ‘11, and Mary Mashburn. Letterpress proofing by Globe Collection and Press coordinator Ingrid Schindall and interns Christine Brown, Justin Caruso, Rei Lem, Lyla Shlon and Dino Urpi. Photographs by Sam Culpepper, Allison Fisher, Becky Slogeris ‘11. Exhibit aid: Kimberly Gim and Sabrina Kogan ‘11.
