The MICA Cares Food Drive

Department — KVH @ 2:58 pm, Monday, February 4th, 2013

The 2013 MICA Cares Food Drive has begun.

Every year the MICA Postal & Print office organizes a campus-wide food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. Now that the holidays have passed, the Maryland Food Bank donations drop, and their ability to fight hunger in Maryland becomes more difficult.

For the month of February, you will find food drop-boxes at 29 locations around MICA, including all studio buildings, campus housing, academic buildings, and of course, right here in Dolphin.

Our Dolphin drop-box is located on the 3rd fl, near the faculty office, in front of Studio 317/318.

Requested food donations include:
Canned Meat / Fish
Peanut Butter
Mac & Cheese
Canned Stew
Nuts & Seeds
Dried or Canned Beans
Oatmeal & Breakfast cereals
Rice & Rice Cakes
Canned Fruits & Juices
Canned Vegetables
Canned Soup
Sauces & Salad Dressings
Evaporated & Powdered Milk.

PLEASE NOTE – Donations in glass containers cannot be accepted.

Donations around campus will be picked up every Friday this month. If you’d like to volunteer to help pick up around campus on Fridays, please contact Postal & Print at 410-225-2202 or email postalandprint@mica.edu.

The donation goal for the month is 1500 pieces. If everyone on campus (Faculty, Staff, and Students) brought in ONE piece, they would DOUBLE their goal. So hit up your pantry or the grocery store next time you go, find some non-perishables, and bring them in!
