Sarah McEneaney Lecture and Residency!

Department — faculty @ 4:07 pm, Friday, September 27th, 2013

September has flown by and our first visitor of the year is upon us!

Philadelphia-based artist Sarah McEneaney will be a special guest of the Printmaking Department from Sunday Sept. 29th through Thursday Oct. 3rd.

Sarah will give a lecture on her art practice at noon on Monday Sept. 30 in Falvey Hall.  It is strongly recommended all printmaking majors and concentrators attend her lecture.

Throughout the week Sarah will be working with Eva Wylie’s Dolphin Press Collaborative Workshop class on a new print edition.  Proceeds from sales of the printed edition will go towards benefiting the Reading Viadcut Rail Park (readingviaduct.org). In 2003 Sarah co-founded the non-profit group dedicated to the preservation and adaptive reuse of the abandoned Reading Viaduct in Philadelphia, PA.  The viaduct is featured in many of Sarah’s paintings and will be included in the print produced at MICA.

Sarah will primarily be working on the 3rd floor of the Dolphin building and in the screen studio. If you are interested in meeting Sarah and checking out the printing progress don’t hesitate to come by! We expect lots of print production activity from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning.
