The Printmaking Department is co-sponsoring Allison Saar, visiting Artist in Residence at MICA next week. She will be giving a lecture on Monday, October 31 @ 4PM in the Lazarus Center Auditorium, and will visit with Printmaking Department Seniors during her stay. Alison Saar was born in Los Angeles, California. She studied art and art history at Scripps College and received an MFA from the Otis Art Institute. Saar received the United States Artist Fellowship in 2012 and has also been awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and two NEA Fellowships and has exhibited at many galleries and museums, including The Contemporary, the Hirshhorn Museum and Watts Towers Arts Center. Her art is represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, MoMA, and the Met.
